MEL WILDER - Artist Statement
There is nothing else that creates such inner peace and tranquility in me than working with hot glass.
Through the use of colour, refraction and reflection my work shows the magical nature that glass in its
molten state holds for me.
At times the inner peace I feel when working at the bench, is so strong it becomes almost spiritual in nature.
All of my pieces attempt to pass this on to the viewer so they, too, can enjoy the "Spirits in Glass".
I have now added glass sand casting & sculptive forms to my body of work. These can be seen in Bloomfield on
the Walking Tour.
