Established in 2002, Bloomfield Studios is home to glass artist Mel Wilder's Spirits in Glass and his wife Colleen's Nightshade Fine Arts.

Here, amidst an artistic melieu of glass blowing, flamework, sand casting, lampwork beads, jewellery designs and fine art, you will find owners Mel and Colleen Wilder doing what they love to do while allowing visitors an opportunity to see "artists at work".
As a graduate of the Ontario College of Art of Design, Colleen's artistic talent covers a broad spectrum. From oil and watercolours to jewellery designs incorporating her own lampwork glass beads, Colleen creates fabulous one-of-a-kind artwork which expresses the influences of the world around her.

On the other hand, Mel, who is mainly self-taught, has an innate talent to manipulate molten glass into superb glass creations. His love of the glass making process inspired him to take courses at Mississauga Living Arts, Queen's Quay and Corning, N.Y. Over the 18 years, he has garnered several prestigious commissions, including one for Taste the County and another for Rick Hanson's Wheels in Motion. Always wanting to expand upon his artistic horizons, Mel has continued to take advanced courses at Corning in New York and elsewhere.
Together, with their own unique talents, Mel and Colleen Wilder have created a dynamic artistic forum for both art lovers and students of art to experience, learn and enjoy
